Back to Basics

Right before our quarantine, I had a chance to go out to several Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the southwest side of England. It was incredible to get back to what made me originally fall in love photography: the ability to be present in the moment, and to observe the world around me.

No agenda.

No deliverables.

Just a beautiful, new place to explore.

Fairford

For the first few days, I just spent some time in the local village of Fairford, which was beautiful on it’s own.

Cotswolds AONB

A colleague and I then took a little drive to the Cotswolds AONB, including the Broadway Tower, and the acronym certainly was accurate. Incredibly beautiful in both natural beauty and architecture.

Avebury

Our final outing before COVID-19 started getting crazy was to the North Wessex Downs AONB, particularly Avebury and the Wilton Windmill.
